Things i noticed:
- I probably should of just used the generator. nobody cares!
- My status updates have a lot to do with tv.
- i update my status much more often than I thought.
ps. the torch passed by my parents house this morning. in fact, the torch was passed on right in front of 163 today. we'll see it when it loops back up to kincardine on the 28th - or maybe at the festivities in owen sound. Rad.
to draw or to draw.
I have many loves in life - passions, you might say. Two of these loves are drawing and computing. I love doodling and drawing and colouring and lettering and painting and swirling. I love reading blogs and emailing and making pretty pages documents and playing with fonts and photoshopping.
With these two loves, I have constant dichotomy. Which do I choose? When I write a grocery list, do I make it intimate and playful with my hand lettering and doodles? or do I make it organized and pleasing with my computer. Do I hand-write these midterm report cards, or do I type them? And what about letters and ideas and posters and messages? Seriously, this is tough decision-making.* I honestly weigh the pros and cons in my head before I choose one or the other. And at times, after realizing I have made the "wrong" decision, I will start all over again. "You're nuts!", says my husband. Or maybe it is just my ADD. You should take a look at my classroom.
Why should I use the "fill-in-the-blank" schedule template like the others teachers when I can make it pretty on my computer?
Why would I use an online calendar (or a real calendar, even) when I can draw it myself.
I like to make hand-made signs for my class (or have THEM do it!) instead of computer generated ones.
But I love to make subject plans on the computer.
and I make to-do lists on paper. usually.
Again, it's the ADD. I think a bit of perfectionism too - but we'll save that for another day.
*please know that this is not a serious problem in my life, I do realize there are more important concerns to have. I am just sharing the madness that is my cerveau.

I really wish I was a better blogger. I spend hours reading and being inspired by others, but I just can't bring myself to posting myself - "not the right picture", "not the coolest link". Although honestly, besides when this gets fed into facebook notes, who really reads this?
Things I could be blogging about, and that I really want to blog about, but have been too lazy are as follows... the "big" move-out of the cottage (ready for demo), visiting brandrea, the number of people I know who are engaged, art, my class, babies i love, home reno ideas, wedding crafts, my favourite music, rob, yoga, my new friend..... but i just am not.
I am also in the bad habit of posting images that are stored on other websites. Looking back in my archives, many of my photos are broken links. that makes me sad. From now on I will *try to save them to my server first. but that takes too long.
le sigh.
i bought some good clay for my class. I think we will try pinch pots first.
we will definitely be getting an apron sink. love it (and found a great one for a fraction of the cost at Ikea). I think I will post more home inspiration in posts to come.
i just read that people are selling their back issues of Domino on ebay for a hefty price - and people are buying. Why, oh why did I toss out all of mine when I was finished with them?
i don't like living out of a bunch of boxes. this is going to be a long 4-5 months. for all of those who volunteered your space for us in the summer months, please note that we will be showing up on your doorstep - but we promise not to overstay our welcome.
i apologize for the negativity of this post. i really am happy! things are going quite well. and my yoga instructor told me that I should be very proud of myself last week for doing the forearm stands. wee.

this morning andrea, mom and i went over to the us of a for my final dress fitting! We went to olga’s for lunch, shopping (heritage 1981!) and to kinkos! andrea is the model.

We are back from our honeymoon! 2 nights in NYC and a 9 day cruise to the carribean from there - wow!! Super fun…. We took hundreds of photos - which have been making the way to flickr slowly …

Tuesday was our first day back! w00t. I only have 15 little kids this year - and 10 of them I had last year! (which makes it super easy to pick up where I left off.. . and keeps me on my feet because I have to work extra hard to keep things fresh and do NEW things).

It’s November up in the North Pole. Everything’s going along smoothly at Santa’s workshop until he discovers a leak in his roof. Santa soon learns that this little leak is connected to a far bigger problem. The North Pole is melting because of something called global warming!
