let’s go save a burning building.

When I was pregnant and a brand new mom (I speak as though I am a veteran now...) I had at least 8 different people send me a link to Mila's Daydreams and that they could totally see me doing it. I remember thinking YES. I totally will. Well, I didn't. I put it on the back-burner and it was lingering there until.... I met my newest of great friends who makes similar scenes with her baby girl. Not only was she inspired, she actually did them! In fact, she's made FIFTEEN scenes so far. [and I like that her little L is awake instead of asleep in them]. My inspiration jump-started again (with a little coaxing from her) and I started looking at every object in my house as a possible prop.

Thinking of scenes to do with a boy are a little trickier than for a girl since my favourite childhood nursery rhymes and movies all have heroines instead of heros. Yesterday I came across this fab momma who does scenes with her baby boy, and then my gears started turning! I've started a list (and feel free to comment with suggestions!)

So without further ado... my first attempt!

Thank you Aly - xo!

  5. Eli IS a fantastic model:) See- wasn’t it so much fun?!!! I bet you are addicted already. I also bet that making the scene was as much fun for you as seeing me referenced in your blog (again!)is for me:) So glad that you channeled your creativity into a baby scene. Can’t wait to see the next one. I am trying to figure out what you used for everything- are the windows dominoes and diaper folds? I love the use of tape cassettes (who has those things??, I don’t even know how to spell them!) I love the little people in the burning building (and hope that Super E got to them in time!)The absolute best part of this pic- your sweet little man’s expression. Definitely a Level 4!!1

  6. The windows are cloth diaper liners and the others are sort of dominoes (pieces in the game rummikub) – way to go!

I have all of my tapes and videotapes. You never know when they’ll come in handy.

  7. What a great picture, very creative!
